Last month we had featured about Chacha and its concept of Chacha Guides, who help the users when they conduct the search. Chacha guides are paid 10 USD per hour. (Chacha moves from Alpha to Beta this month). Now we came across another search engine with a neat interface, ZotSpot. The search engine is willing to pay the search users the money, if they use ZotSpot as their primary search engine. More over it is also willing to pay a referral fee to those who are interested in referring their friends or others to ZotSpot. By this means, one can earn around 250 US dollars as a referral income. More importantly they also allow you to share this amount for charities. So for example you earn 500 US dollars, you can donate 100 dollars for a charity and you can keep the rest 400 US dollars, for their mission is also to help socially beneficial organization’s fund operations.

To our knowledge apart from Chacha, this is the first search engine to have user registration. So go register yourself and start referring your friends.

About ZotSpot search, the search is pretty quick and we cannot right now say the results are extremely good. From our standpoint ZotSpot’s way of Indexing the results may definitely require a change. That is, the results do not showcase variety, which is a common norm with the existing search engines. So in the top 10 we find one or two sites occupying the top 20 results. One marked deviation from the usual search engines is that it doesnot throw up an indication of “30,000,000″ results, which is quite common with google, yahoo or Live.

Definitely its intention to share its revenue with the users and also to support the cause is going to create lot of visibility for ZotSpot. If it can address few of the issues, then probably there is no reason why zotspot should not emerge as one of the top search engines.

All the best ZotSpot.
