New Tech News-ZotSpot-Get paid to search and also support a cause
Posted by itispals under General , Hot n Spicy , New & Just In , New Tech NewsLast month we had featured about Chacha and its concept of Chacha Guides, who help the users when they conduct the search. Chacha guides are paid 10 USD per hour. (Chacha moves from Alpha to Beta this month). Now we came across another search engine with a neat interface, ZotSpot. The search engine is willing to pay the search users the money, if they use ZotSpot as their primary search engine. More over it is also willing to pay a referral fee to those who are interested in referring their friends or others to ZotSpot. By this means, one can earn around 250 US dollars as a referral income. More importantly they also allow you to share this amount for charities. So for example you earn 500 US dollars, you can donate 100 dollars for a charity and you can keep the rest 400 US dollars, for their mission is also to help socially beneficial organization’s fund operations.
To our knowledge apart from Chacha, this is the first search engine to have user registration. So go register yourself and start referring your friends.
About ZotSpot search, the search is pretty quick and we cannot right now say the results are extremely good. From our standpoint ZotSpot’s way of Indexing the results may definitely require a change. That is, the results do not showcase variety, which is a common norm with the existing search engines. So in the top 10 we find one or two sites occupying the top 20 results. One marked deviation from the usual search engines is that it doesnot throw up an indication of “30,000,000″ results, which is quite common with google, yahoo or Live.
Definitely its intention to share its revenue with the users and also to support the cause is going to create lot of visibility for ZotSpot. If it can address few of the issues, then probably there is no reason why zotspot should not emerge as one of the top search engines.
All the best ZotSpot.

That is good idea being able to give part of what you earn to charity. There is already a similar idea being promoted by jikolp.com. It is just a rebranded google search but 50% of the ad revenue goes to charity. I used to use google but I may as well use jikolp as I get the same results but I’m earning a charity a few cents along the way:) I’ve only been using for a few days but I think I’ll stick with it.

[...] Technological developments are creating a revolution. Especially after the advent of internet and success of Google as search engine has changed the way people use Internet.Yesterday we had written about ZotSpot, which is a new search engine which helps people to earn and also share their earnings for charity. It was with this article we learnt from one of our readers, Rachael, that Jikolp exists. Thanks Rachael. Jikolp primary reason for existance to help the charity organizations. More importantly it doesnt just share its profits, Rather it shares 50% of what ever revenue is generated. Infact at this time of writing the article UNICEF is the organization which is be to benefitted this week. Again, it just uses Google search engine to deliver you the results and hence for those Google users who are always used to google search, can switch to Jikolp and probably play a small role in helping Jikolp achieve its goal. It is a simple and noble thought, yet a thought that can help change the lives of atleast a few thousands. I am switching to Jikolp, Its just the way to show “Icare”. would you?. [...]
